Bike theft (trackbike theft to be exact) here in Copenhagen has taken a bad turn in the past year or two. A couple of years ago you didn’t need more than a good u-lock, anything more was considered overkill.

These days you’re taking a risk if you lock up with less than a big chain and huge padlock.

This is what happened to a friends bike this weekend.

If you can’t see it, the spokes have been cut from both rear wheels and the hubs are gone, and so are the front wheels.

I predict that the new black for 09 on the tarckbike scene, is going to be 3 speed fixed hubs and front brakes.

The brakes is just a feeling I have, but the 3 speed hub is a calculated guess. Just look at this photo of Chris Hoy.

Last night the CBMA threw a goldsprint and a party. Very well organized and the first goldsprint that I’ve been to that didn’t have a computer meltdown halfway trough. Well done!

It was held in an old train station.

The bathroom/chair storage, was quite impressive.

I did a small paint job on my friends matt black, custom frame from Track Bike Shop. It was fun to do and didn’t take a lot of time, so i can’t be anything but happy with the outcome.
